Wisdom teeth, also known as the third molars, are the very last teeth to grow into the mouth. While some patients have all four of their third molars, others may only have one, two, or three of them. If yours are causing you severe pain or there’s simply not enough room in your mouth to allow them to grow in without causing crowding, we offer wisdom tooth extractions in Maplewood to help.
We can remove partially erupted and fully erupted wisdom teeth in a similar manner as a regular tooth extraction. We’ll gently lift the tooth from its socket and wiggle it free of connective tissues before removing it from the gumline. If the tooth isn’t fully erupted, we may need to separate it into multiple sections to make it easier to remove. Once the procedure is complete, our team will place clean gauze over the extraction site to minimize bleeding.
